On Sunday February 11th, The Seminole County Harley Owners Group (SCHOG) hosted their 12th Annual Valentine' s Day Poker Run. The poker run started off at the VFW Post in Winter Springs where hundreds of participants gathered for breakfast and socializing before the run. I was impressed by the support from the other HOG clubs as I saw large groups roll in from Clermont, Daytona, Ocala, Orlando, Lake County and Space Coast chapters. The first stop was Seminole Harley Davidson where we got to visit with vendors and some riders participated in the 2007 Model Demo Rides that were taking place. From there we were off to Scruffy Duffers Pub & Grille, Shovelhead Lounge and the Green Parrot Pub & Eatery, our final stop. Arriving at the Green Parrot, we checked in and collected our last card. I ended up with a straight, the best hand I ever pulled from a poker run and was pretty excited. That, however, didn't last long as I was told someone already had four of a kind. After check in we could purchase a chance at the 50/50, raffle tickets, guess the number of candies in the jar, participate in the silent auction or bid on some great items that OJ, SCHOGs' president, was auctioning off in the live auction. It was apparent that SCHOG has a very active membership by the number of members helping out with the event. I was amazed with all the activities taking place simultaneously and how well organized they were. There were a few vendors on site and the GroundZro Race Team' s bike was on display. It was a great way to spend a Sunday, even though I had to follow behind in the cage since I was unable to ride due to recovering from surgery. But, that allowed me to bring Harley (the dog) with us. As you can see by the pictures, she enjoyed the day too! . Check out Seminole County HOG.
