Sons Of Anarchy Premiered This Week On FX

Wednesday Night was the premier of the Sons of Anarchy, a new drama series on FX, focused on the "outlaw" motorcycle world. I have to admit, I was looking forward to this premier after seeing the ever so present trailers FX continuously ran about the show. And, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I actually liked it.

The Sons of Anarchy did a good job in setting up an interesting story line for the 13 episode show. The main character "Jax" is currently undergoing some situations that are causing him to re-evaluate his life. This includes the pre-mature birth of his child to the cracked-out ex-wife and the theft of the clubs large weapons shipment by a rival club, all which culminate at the same time.

For me, the best part of the show, was the performance of Katey Sagal (Married With Children). She plays Jax's hard hitting, in your face mother who has no qualms of telling you how she feels. She spills out all sorts of horrible things to the crack-head ex-wife who was still in the hospital after giving birth to her grandchild. Though it was mean and ruthless, I found myself routing for her during the scene as she said the things people normally think, just don't say.

The Sons of Anarchy definitely had enough substance, story line and motorcycle "stuff" to keep me interested for the next episode. The show runs on Wednesday night at 10pm on FX. Here's FX description of the show: The Sons of Anarchy is an adrenalized, darkly humorous drama exploring a notorious outlaw motorcycle club's intent on protecting their simple, sheltered town of Charming, CA from advancing drug dealers and local corporate developers. It is also a family saga seen through the eyes of Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) whose love for the brotherhood comes into direct conflict with his growing apprehension regarding the club's lawlessness. Katey Sagal stars as his force-of-nature mother who, along with the club's president, Jax's stepfather, has her own ideas about the direction of the Sons of Anarchy. Additional co-stars include Drea de Matteo and Maggie Siff.
